Grateful patients praise Mount Nittany Health COVID-19 vaccine clinics

We've all been eagerly awaiting the COVID vaccine. For many, receiving the vaccine creates a sense of overwhelming relief from the worry of getting seriously ill from the virus.

"It's not very often that I tell people that giving a shot is one of the best parts of my career as a nurse," shares Laurie Smeal, RNC, women & children's services, Mount Nittany Medical Center. "But each day I serve as a COVID vaccinator, I'm overwhelmed by the gratitude, the joy, and the relief of each patient I treat."

These heartfelt words are echoed by the following patients, all of whom recently praised the vaccination efforts led by Mount Nittany Health:

"My husband and I thought the way you [Mount Nittany Health] handled the vaccine was amazing — very organized and professional. No long waits in long lines. Very much appreciated." - Ann and Frank Rocco

"I wish all states could have had the experience my husband and I had. [The vaccine clinic was] done very efficiently. Thank you! Great job. PS We feel privileged to have the wonderful care of Mount Nittany Health providers." - James and Bonnie Knapp

"Everyone was very polite, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Thank you all for your dedication and care for all in need. We couldn't do it without you! Thank you!" - Ronald Musoleno

"Having no, direct access to and very little knowledge of, computers, an actual person calling me to set up the appointments was very much appreciated. Everything was so organized. Everyone was so nice, kind, helpful, friendly, and patient. I was very impressed. Kudos to Mount Nittany Health." – Anonymous from State College

"Thank you for your COVID-19 response. The vaccination process was so professionally and caringly done! Thank you! We are so grateful." - David & Cindy Keelyak

Mount Nittany Health leads the area's vaccine efforts, providing nearly 50 percent of all vaccines in Centre County. Mount Nittany Health remains committed to continuing to vaccinate our community as long as it takes.

The vaccine is free to any individual that is eligible based on the Pennsylvania Department of Health criteria who wants a vaccine. However, the process to vaccinate individuals with its intense manpower needs is funded by Mount Nittany Health. Donations from grateful patients, such as those quoted, support our COVID response and aid our vaccination efforts. Grateful vaccination patients have already donated more than $30,000.
